For the first time, a Tracking system provided valuable data in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Powered by Mac-Lloyd, every runner in the 2019 edition of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe carried a sensor, gathering a multitude of data, which we are delighted to present in the chart below
From now on, the tracking system will be in operation in two races at every ParisLongchamp meeting.
Following two years of research and development in close cooperation with key players in the racing industry, Tracking technology is now possible at every flat course in the world. Mac-Lloyd has been able to overcome a major challenge in order to meet the demands of the industry: minimise the size of the casing of the sensor to avoid any discomfort to jockey and horse, without compromising the precision of the readings throughout the race.
An important tool for industry professionals and punters:
The sensor carried by each horse collects a multitude of data, which can be accessed during and after the race. The data will be available to racing professionals, including trainers, owners and jockeys, allowing them to better analyse the performance of their horse in the race and to adapt this knowledge to their training methods. The technology also provides punters with an improved viewing experience, as they will be able to follow the exact position of horses during a race on the racecourse screens, as well as from the comfort of their TV screens at home.
