Enable returns successfully and looks forward to the Arc
Enable (Nathaniel) was making her big comeback this Saturday in Kempton. By winning the September Stakes (Gr3), she upset the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Gr1) scenario. The filly reacted like her jockey, Lanfranco Dettori, was expecting. John Gosden explained about his filly: “She had a perfect preparation four weeks before the Arc de Triomphe. I liked everything about her race. In the final phase, her strides did not even give Crystal Ocean the hope of being able to attack. Enable was at 80 or 85% of her optimal condition. She will progress between now and the Arc de Triomphe. The filly is coming out of several very frustrating months. Because she likes to work and run.”
Crystal Ocean took second place in the race and his possible addition to the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is still under discussion. Indeed, his trainer, Sir Michael Stoute said, “We will discuss this with the owner. But there are a lot of good races this Autumn: the Canadian International, the Champions Stakes…”
Before the race, Enable was offered at 5/1 by the bookmakers. She became the favorite again, as she was just after her first success in the Arc. Her odds have dropped to 2/1 and even 1.5/1 for some bookmakers. All those of other rivals haven risen. Sea of Class (Sea The Stars) ranges from 4 to 5/1. Cracksman (Frankel) is 8/1 and Lah Ti Dar (Dubawi) is 10/1… Sir Michael Stoute’s two horses, Crystal Ocean and Poet’s Word (Poet’s Voice) are offered between 10 and 14/1.
The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe will take place on Sunday 7th October 2018 at ParisLongchamp. “The Arc” as it is commonly known, is the biggest horserace in the world.
